We are pleased to announce the introduction of a new size of our renowned burrata. Originally offered in eight ounce and four ounce sizes, Maplebrook has now released a unique two ounce size, also known as burratini. The two ounce burratini is packaged with four pieces in containers of sea salt brine.
The head of Maplebrook’s burrata team is Domenico Marchitelli, a native of Puglia, the Italian region where burrata originated. Marchitelli has now trained a team at Maplebrook, and cases of burrata leave the plant daily, seemingly minutes after being made.
The two ounce burrata was developed based on suggestions from chefs, who wanted to create dishes with a single, whole burrata ball. Maplebrook’s burrata team went to work, testing a variety of configurations that would ensure meeting Maplebrook’s standards for flavor, texture, aesthetics, and shelf life.
